HTC CONTINUES THE ER MICKEY PROGRAM IN LOCAL HOSPITALS
HTC and Grand Strand Regional Medical Center invite the media to join HTC employees during the visit on Tuesday, December 2 at 10 a.m.
For the fourteenth consecutive year, HTC, in cooperation with The Disney Channel, will provide Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dolls for children who are hospitalized during the holiday season. HTC is excited about continuing this unique tradition and spreading Christmas cheer in local hospitals over the 2008 season.
“Every year, I am amazed at the way the Disney dolls brighten the lives of the children who are hospitalized during the holidays. The patients and families light up, and the nurses who care for these patients comment on how much the dolls mean to the children,” said Nicole Hyman, HTC Senior Marketing Coordinator. “I believe it keeps their minds off of the illness or accident that has caused them to visit the hospital. When we see this happen, we know we’ve accomplished our goal of the ER Mickey program.”
“Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls are distributed to children in the emergency department and those who are inpatients,” said Joan Carroza, Grand Strand Regional Marketing director. “The colorful dolls immediately ease the child’s fears and are a welcome site. The Mickey and Minnie doll delivery is one of our most anticipated traditions each year at Grand Strand Regional.”
HTC invites the media to join HTC employees during the visits to the following hospitals:
Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Tuesday, December 2 at 10 a.m.
Conway Medical Center, Tuesday, December 9 at 2 p.m.
Loris Healthcare System-TBD
The ER Mickey Program is just one way HTC is reaching out to those in need this holiday season. Another program, the 7th Annual HTC, Hope Through Caring, Employee Food Drive and Angel Program, is underway to provide items for the Salvation Army, Community Kitchen and Shepherd’s Table. Results of the food drive will be announced in January. For more information about the ER Mickey program, please contact Nicole Hyman, HTC Senior Marketing Coordinator at 369-8498.
