International Audience Enjoys Beach Ball Classic Thanks to HTC
More than 20 countries and 38 states represented in online viewing reports from HTC.
December 29, 2008, Horry County, SC –– With the championship game in sight for Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., HTC and The Beach Ball Classic are excited to announce that the games have been viewed all over the United States and numerous international locations including Israel and Vietnam. Other countries include Germany, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Norway and Bulgaria.
“It is amazing to see the overwhelming response from fans not only in the United States, but around the world that have chosen to view some of the best high school basketball online. We are thrilled to see that thousands of fans have taken advantage of this unique opportunity made possible by HTC,” said John Rhodes, Beach Ball Classic Executive Director.
“HTC is proud to be the local partner to provide this unique connection for the Beach Ball Classic for the fourth consecutive year. This is a valuable partnership for the Beach Ball Classic, HTC and the fans,” says Tom Vitt, HTC Director of Marketing. “Our records indicate that more than 2,300 unique visitors from 38 states and 21 countries have logged on during the Beach Ball Classic games so far this year for the tournament. Statistics have proven that the demand for online viewing is there and this option is critical to families and fans that are unable to attend the tournament in person especially during the holidays.”
Video and audio captured at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center is encoded on site and sent over HTC’s fiber optic network to a media server at HTC’s Headquarters. The feed is then made available in a streaming video format over the Internet.
Fans can view the remaining semi-final games and the Championship game on Wednesday night played at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center via the internet on www.sccoast.net. Fans can also view the games by visiting the Beach Ball Classic website at www.beachballclassic.com. and clicking on the “Watch Live presented by HTC” link.
Access will be given on a first come, first served basis. However, each game will be recorded and archived and will be available for viewing after the game.
