With HTC Smart Wi-Fi, the connection in your home will be even more reliable than ever!  Here is a list of some of the more commonly asked questions.

Please Note: HTC Smart Wi-Fi not available with member owned routers or in all areas. Professional installation is required by an HTC technician. Self-installs are not allowed. Includes replacement of damaged or non-working Wi-Fi devices resulting from normal wear and tear. Pods are the property of HTC and must be returned if service is terminated. Replacement fee applies if unreturned. HTC Smart Wi-Fi does not guarantee delivery of full package speed to wireless devices as Wi-Fi may reduce speeds to connected devices by 25% or greater. Features such as AI Security, Advanced IoT Protection and Parental Controls only available while device is connected to HTC Smart Wi-Fi network. HTC does not guarantee protection of devices from cyber threats that are connected to HTC Smart Wi-Fi via the Plume® network. HTC does not endorse Plume® Motion and Sense as a home security system. Certain other conditions and restrictions may apply. 

Q: What is HTC Smart Wi-Fi?

HTC Smart Wi-Fi is an adaptive mesh Wi-Fi system that replaces any current Wi-Fi access points in your home. HTC Smart Wi-Fi uses the Plume System to create an adaptive network that continually optimizes your devices and your internet connection, providing more consistent speeds across every room.

Q: Who is Plume?

Plume is our technology partner in bringing HTC Smart Wi-Fi to our members. We chose them because their cutting-edge software and hardware provides a home Wi-Fi experience that is light years ahead of anything else available today.

Q: What is included with my HTC Smart Wi-Fi package?

Your HTC Smart Wi-Fi package includes two (2) Pods and access to Plume’s highly rated HomePass app. Through the HomePass app’s Adapt, Access, Guard, and Sense features, you’ll have access to parental controls, online protection for your devices, advanced smart home protection, adblocking, motion detection, and advanced Wi-Fi management tools.

Q: Do I need the HomePass app for HTC Smart Wi-Fi to work?

No. The HomePass app is highly recommended and allows you to have access to your Premium Wi-Fi network and the ability to manage all the devices on your network. A device such as a smart phone, tablet, or iPad is necessary for the HomePass app.

Q: How many Pods do I need for my home?

The two (2) Pods that come with your HTC Smart Wi-Fi package will work for most homes. During installation, an HTC field technician will help you to determine the perfect number of Pods for your home.

Q: Can I install HTC Smart Wi-Fi myself?

No. Professional installation done by an HTC field technician is required to make sure your HTC Smart Wi-Fi network is set up to provide your home with the best Wi-Fi coverage.

Q: Can I buy additional Plume Pods outside of those that HTC offers?

If you need additional Pods, HTC will provide them for an additional monthly cost for each pod over the two (2) included in your HTC Smart Wi-Fi package. The prices start at $5.00/month, or less, for each additional pod. Plume Pods purchased outside of HTC will not work with any Pods supplied by HTC.

Q: How does HTC Smart Wi-Fi protect against cyber threats?

Through the Guard feature in the HomePass app, HTC Smart Wi-Fi utilizes AI security to provide real-time threat protection against crypto-mining, ransomware, malware and more to the devices connected to your home network.

Q: How does HTC Smart Wi-Fi protect my Smart Home devices?

The HomePass app’s Guard feature includes Advanced IoT (Internet of Things) protection that defends your smart home devices like cameras, baby monitors and locks against hackers and cybercriminals.

Q: How do HTC Smart Wi-Fi Parental Controls work?

HTC Smart Wi-Fi allows you to set up parental controls for a particular a person, an individual device, or even by location (kids bedroom), all through the HomePass app.

Q: What devices work with HTC Smart Wi-Fi?

All of your Wi-Fi enabled devices should have no issues connecting to HTC Smart Wi-Fi.
