The No. 1 tech resolution to consider for 2021

HTC invites you to make a resolution worth keeping in 2021. It’s time to make your privacy and security of your online information a priority. From online banking login information to streaming service passwords, online scammers are on a never-ending hunt for unprotected online users.

Whether you’re a small-business owner, entrepreneur, or a casual online shopper and web surfer, you need to protect your intangible online properties. A study by on-line security company McAfee reveals the average American has over $55,000 in digital assets. Use the list below to consider the websites and platforms you use via the internet:

  • Email
  • Online banking
  • Online shopping
  • Restaurant delivery services
  • Social media
  • Streaming service (i.e.: Netflix, Hulu, HTC TV MAX, etc.)
  • Subscription services (i.e.: music, fitness, or education apps)

Unlike your physical possessions, digital resources are intangible and difficult to protect without taking the proper security measures. The personal information stored on these websites, in the cloud, or on your device is incredibly valuable to online thieves. With access to your sensitive information, online scammers can sell your information, damage your credit, reputation, or business long before you’re even aware your information has been stolen.

This year, resolve to protect your information, money, and personal data from online hackers. Residential HTC High-Speed Internet members receive the Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security software for free. The security suite provides the most comprehensive, intuitive protection for your personal data so you can shop, bank or browse with confidence. Internet members can download the antivirus software on up to three devices by logging into the My Account app or website. Step-by-step directions can be found at www.htcinc.net/support/high-speed-internet/anti-virus.

Three Ways Home Automation Lowers Energy Costs

As the winter season ushers in cooler temperatures, your monthly energy cost can spike. Home automation systems are designed to regulate energy use, lowering your expenses while still allowing you to customize your home’s environment.

The HTC Connected Home Security works in a number of ways to decrease your costs. Our top three money-saving benefits include:

  • Connected lights: It’s never been easier to turn off lights you or the kids mistakenly left on when you’re away from your home. With a push of a button from your smartphone, lights can be flipped on or off. Connect light automation with motion detectors on the HTC Connected Home Security system so light will always be available when you need it. Plus, you can program lights throughout your home to dim or brighten at certain times of the day or evening to create an inviting atmosphere.
  • ‘Just right’ temperature: Program your home’s thermostat to decrease heating or cooling efforts when no one is home. Just before everyone return for the evening, program the thermostat to adjust to a comfortable temperature. You can set the thermostat to fall in line with other automated functions, like fans, shades, or lights.
  • All systems off: When you run out the door in a hurry, leave with confidence knowing you can turn off all lights, electronics, and appliances that are connected to your HTC Connected Home Security system. No more wondering if you remembered to turn off the coffee pot or locked the door. An automated home does it all.

Enjoy the many benefits of a home automation system when you partner with HTC. The HTC Connected Home Security system is powered by Alarm.com, a leader in home automation and safety. Use this holiday season to lower your energy costs and simplify your life with technology. Explore the many features of the HTC Connected Home Security service.
