HTC members and neighbors,

HTC, like many in our area, has been monitoring the arrival and spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past few weeks. The health and safety of our employees, members and neighbors is of the utmost importance. As health concerns rise, employers turn to remote work solutions and students are dependent on eLearning, HTC recognizes that families will spend more time at home and rely more than ever on our services. It’s important to us that our members know how HTC is actively preparing to provide and maintain quality telecommunication services with safety at the forefront of our minds.

HTC On-site Visits

As always, the HTC Technical Support team will make every attempt to complete any installation and repairs remotely. If an HTC technician is scheduled to visit your home or business, know that several precautions are taken to protect you and our team members, including:

  • For residential or business members scheduled for HTC service or installation, we will call ahead of that appointment to verify you would like to proceed with the visit, understanding our technician may need to enter your property.
  • When a member agrees to an HTC on-site visit, our technician will ask if anyone in the property is exhibiting flu-like symptoms. If an individual is symptomatic, HTC will reschedule the visit.
  • HTC service vehicles are routinely disinfected, with technicians wiping the vehicle’s interior between property visits.
  • All HTC branch offices are equipped with disinfectant cleaning materials and associates regularly wipe down retail items, desks, chairs and other office materials.

HTC technicians are experienced in understanding the probable cause of the most common issues and will enter your property only when absolutely necessary.

All HTC members are encouraged to conduct service requests, bill pay, and other HTC business matters online or over the phone.

HTC Preventative Care

HTC employees are the backbone of your Cooperative. For that reason, we’re taking advanced measures to ensure their good health.

Corporate travel is being cancelled or postponed to avoid the spread of the disease. In addition, we’re offering up-to-date information from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization.

We’ve also cancelled or postponed large trainings, professional conferences and other employee gatherings. Our team members will rely on virtual communication when necessary.

HTC is categorized within a critical infrastructure industry by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Because individuals, businesses, municipalities and other pertinent organizations rely on the connectivity offered by HTC, we must remain operative. We will follow guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to maintain services that safely and responsibly serve our employees, members and community.
