HTC, the area’s largest fiber Internet provider, used the month of August to pledge $5 per new HTC TV Max subscription generated during the month, along with employee donations, to give back to local First Steps organizations in Horry, Georgetown and Marion Counties in celebration of students returning for the 2022-23 school year.
These donations are a part of HTC’s ongoing “Helping The Community” efforts. HTC employees donated $1,500 to Horry County First Steps during the month of August. The money comes directly out of the Jean Day fund, which is an initiative HTC started that allows its employees to wear jeans every Friday in return for a small annual charitable contribution. Jean Day funds are given back to the local community throughout the year in the form of charitable donations. In addition, similar to previous community donation efforts, the Cooperative pledged to donate $5 for every new HTC TV Max subscription during the month of August to Georgetown and Marion First Steps programs. The pledge brought a total of $1,500 per First Steps branch.
