Sandy Hendrick of Conway was recently recognized as the Independent Marketing Executive of the Year by Cablefax Magazine.
Hendrick, a 20-year employee of HTC, is a marketing supervisor whose specialties include the HTC Digital Cable products. Among his many tasks, he has played a pivotal role in retransmission negotiations and contract negotiations with a host networks.
“I’ve benefited from being able to touch all of HTC’s different areas – product development, strategy, customer service and pricing,” Hendrick told the magazine. “Being a smaller company, we’re specialized, but we’re also jacks of all trades.”
Among the many initiatives Hendrick was recognized for was his role in a brief blackout of a local station in 2018. He reached out to the National Cable Television Cooperative and cable providers from around the country similar to HTC to calculate the best strategy for negotiations in the customers’ best interest.
“Sandy knew how important it was for him and our other members” to resolve the situation quickly, Judy Meyka, NCTC’s Executive Vice-President said. “He has a great relationship with a lot of our members and I think they look to him for his support and input.”
Hendrick lives in Conway with his wife and two children, is active in the local tennis scene and is a member of the local Kiwanis Club.
