Carlton Lewis Officially Assumes Role of HTC Chief Executive Officer
November 28, 2022, Conway, S.C. – HTC, the largest telecommunications cooperative in the United States, today announced that Carlton Lewis has officially assumed the role of HTC Chief Executive Officer. Lewis was selected by the HTC Board of Directors as the successor to retiring CEO Mike Hagg earlier this year.
Lewis joined HTC in 1998 and has served in several different positions throughout his tenure. Prior to his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw most day-to-day operations of the Cooperative, Lewis served as Chief Financial Officer for eight years.
“We have great confidence in Carlton’s leadership,” said Charles Whaley, president of the HTC Board of Directors. “His talent and interpersonal qualities, as well as his experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry will allow for a seamless transition. His vision will set the stage for what we believe will be continued growth and prosperity for HTC.”

In addition to his HTC duties, Lewis remains active in the local community. A Coastal Carolina University graduate, he currently serves as an Advisory Board member for the Finance and Accounting Departments at CCU. He is also on the Board of Directors for Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union.
An Aynor native, Lewis is a dedicated member of Berea Baptist Church, where he and his wife Abagail have raised their two children, Claire and Cade.
