Welcome, HTC Residential Member

HTC is excited to welcome you as the newest member of our cooperative. As a special welcome to our Southern Coastal Cable neighbors, HTC is providing your existing services free of charge for the first two months of your membership. We hope the information below will help you navigate the transition.

Residential Services

HTC offers many convenient ways to view and pay your monthly statement. However, we will never call you to ask for pre-payment of services. Scams take many shapes and forms, such as phone calls, letters and emails. Contact HTC directly at 843-436-6500 for validation of any communication that claims to come from HTC.

Will my rates change?

To welcome you as an HTC member, you’ll receive the first two months of service free of charge*. After that transitional period, you’ll changeover to our Southern Coastal Cable exclusive monthly pricing below:

  • Voice: $34.95 (Member Connections with long distance calling and our most popular voice features)
  • Internet: $49.95
  • Cable: $88.95 (Basic and Plus)
  • Double Play (Bundle two services)
    • Voice & Internet: $58.90
    • Voice & Cable: $124.90
    • Internet & Cable: $99.90
  • Triple Play (Voice, Cable, & Internet): $110.85
  • Home Security: As low as $24.95 when bundled with another service
*Above promotion is exclusive to Southern Coastal Cable customers only.
How will I pay my bill?

You will not be charged for services or receive a monthly statement in September. Your October services will also be free of charge, but you will receive a statement reflecting your new rates and your welcome discount.

In November, you can pay your bill online through HTC MyAccount, an online bill pay and service management website, over the phone at 843-436-6500, or in person at 2101 S Fraser St. in Georgetown. If you were previously enrolled in automatic bill payment through Southern Coastal Cable, you must enroll in MyAccount to set up automatic bill pay with HTC.

I am a Georgetown resident but not a Southern Coastal Cable customer. Can I become an HTC member?

HTC is excited to grow our presence in the City of Georgetown and is currently taking service reservations for non-Southern Coastal Cable customers. We anticipate beginning the service reservation connections as early as October. Call 843-436-6500 for more information.

Will I still have access to my favorite TV channels?

Initially, you will continue to receive the Southern Coastal Cable lineup with the exception of a few channels that will be removed upon the closing of the agreement, including local broadcast stations WBTW (CBS), WCIV (ABC) and WTAT (FOX).  Other local stations, such as WCBD (NBC), WPDE (ABC) and WCSC (CBS) will remain and WFXB (FOX) will be added to your lineup. Some local channels will be removed in the transition because HTC does not have broadcast rights to offer these channels.

As HTC converts Southern Coastal Cable customers to the HTC network, you will be notified of the specific date you can expect to see the HTC channel lineup. Once transitioned, you will enjoy our Cable Plus lineup, which includes Cable Basic and a selection of our most popular channels. To view the Cable Plus lineup, click here.

Will I be able to use the same set top box?

You will continue to use the same equipment in the immediate future. Later this year, as we transition you to the HTC network, we will contact you with any equipment transition needs.

How will my internet service be affected?

Over the transitional period of a couple months, all Southern Coastal Cable customers will be transitioned to HTC Standard Internet. HTC will notify you if you need to exchange your modem and upgrade your router to experience faster speeds.

Will I be able to use my same modem/router?

Based on the model and age of your equipment, it may not have the technical ability to connect you to the HTC network and provide faster speeds. Upgraded equipment will allow a faster, more reliable connection and HTC will contact you directly to encourage an equipment change.

Home Phone

Will I get to keep my current home phone number?

Will my saved Voice Mail messages transition with the HTC switch?

Your saved voice mails will not transition to the HTC network. We encourage you to record any voice mails you want to save using another device, like a smart phone.

What features are included with HTC voice services?

With home phone service on the HTC network, you will receive the following features, included in your bundle:

  • Caller ID – Name and Number
  • Call Forwarding
  • Remote Call Forwarding
  • Call Waiting – Deluxe
  • Voicemail –with Busy Line/Don’t Answer

Will I be able to keep my Southern Coastal Cable email address?

About HTC

Who is HTC?

HTC is a nonprofit cooperative that offers high-quality telecommunication services and is focused on bettering the lives of those living in the areas we serve. HTC grants membership based on your subscription to any of the following qualifying HTC services: Home Phone, Digital Cable, High-Speed Internet, Wireless Services and Security & Automation; regardless of your service location.

We offer four distinct benefits to our members not found at traditional telecommunication service providers, including:

  • Eligibility for Capital Credits: Members of a cooperative have ownership stake in that organization. HTC operates as a nonprofit cooperative, so when a profit is realized, the funds are allocated back to members in the form of capital credits. While the allocation and payment of capital credits is dependent upon the Cooperative’s operating condition and need for future capital, we have been able to pay more than $139 million back to our members since 1979.
  • Voting Rights: Members get a voice in important decisions, including the election of our board of directors. Each member gets one vote.
  • Competitive Pricing: Members of the Cooperative share in very competitive pricing on our products and services.
  • Community Focus: HTC is very active in communities spanning Georgetown and Horry counties. Money generated by our members is returned to the community to improve the quality of life for all.

It is our job to keep you, our member, connected to family, businesses, friends and the world every day. We take pride in our products, our employees and our service. HTC invites you to enjoy all of the benefits of membership!

If you have any questions about membership, please call an HTC representative at 843-436-6500.
