This publication from HTC will serve as a connection point, a common thread that ties together a vibrant community chock-full of art, culture, philanthropy, commerce and more. From this magazine, expect quarterly coverage on a variety of topics such as Lowcountry lifestyle, business spotlights, entertainment and attractions, community happenings, restaurant reviews, more in-depth regulatory and policy issues facing the Cooperative, and technology. The best part? There’s no need to sign up — HTC members will receive their magazine automatically, and a digital version will be available for online reading at htcinc.net. In this issue, we will shine a light on local businesses, dig a little deeper into local history, learn about technology in our daily lives, connect to culture, hear from Coastal Carolina University President David DeCenzo, Ph.D., provide more information on a proposed bylaw change facing our Cooperative and much more. HTC exists to improve the quality of life in the areas we serve. We are committed to providing the most reliable communications services at the best possible value, ultimately working with others in the community to build a better society for all. Why are we so strongly committed to community improvement? Because this is our community. Our customers are our neighbors — we live, work and play right here, too. From the sun-soaked buildings on Ocean Boulevard, to the tractor treads farther inland, to the unrefined elegance of the marshland, we treasure this place and all those who call it home. This publication is for you, our valued member — we hope you enjoy reading it and learn a thing or two along the way. We at HTC are honored to publish this magazine and proud to continue to connect this community to the things in life that matter most.
