So I bought one.” Aaron Maynard’s background is in aviation, but these days, he prefers to keep two wheels firmly planted on the ground. He retired from the U.S. Armed Forces as an Air Force colonel and traded C130s for bicycles. Now, he’s helping the Grand Strand find its stride, too. He was living in London and commuting nearly 6 miles to the U.S. embassy daily when he decided he couldn’t stomach spending $3,000 per year on a “tube” pass (Londoner speak for “train”).
