TV MAX Features

The Menu serves as the main navigation hub for the application and provides access to all available features and content. 

The Home screen is the default landing page of the TV Max application and serves as the central location for content discovery and navigation. 

The Home screen is designed to help users quickly find entertainment without having to browse through multiple menus or channels.  Here you’ll find quick access to Recommended Movie Content, Live TV, DVR Content, Recently Watched with option to resume, and more.

The Program Guide displays scheduled programming and channel information. 

Key Features: 

• Browse available channels. 
• View upcoming programming. 
• Access Recording options. 
• Launch Start Over and Lookback features when available.  

The Start Over feature allows users to restart a currently airing program from the beginning, even if they join after the show has started. 

When a user begins to view a live program (with rights to restart) that is in progress, there are three different ways in which a user can start from the beginning: 

1. Selecting the restart option from the dialog that appears for a few seconds after the media player is launched.
   
2. Selecting the restart option from the player controls.
   
3. Rewinding backwards to the beginning of the program. 

Key Features:

• Available on supported channels and programs. 

Lookback (Replay) allows users to access previously aired programming without having recorded it in advance. 

For applicable channels, scrolling left in the guide will allow the user to view previously aired programs for up to 72 hours in the past. 

Key Features:

• Watch programs that aired earlier.
• Access recent content from participating channels.
• Browse previously broadcast programming directly from the guide. 

MultiView enables users to watch multiple channels or events simultaneously on a single screen. 

Key Features: 

• View multiple streams at the same time. 
• Switch audio between available channels. 
• Monitor multiple live events simultaneously. 

To use:  Select the “MultiView” menu item from main navigation to access the feature. 

On first entry to the MultiView screen, a tutorial overlay is displayed. 

The MultiView screen displays the four most recently watched live channels in a grid layout. Each channel is shown in a quadrant (tile) labeled as follows: 

1. Top-Left: Either the currently playing channel or the most recently watched one. 
2. Top-Right: The second most recently watched channel. 
3. Bottom-Left: The third most recently watched channel. 
4. Bottom-Right: The fourth (oldest) recently watched channel.

The audio will be determined by which pane is highlighted.  For a channel to be viewed in MultiView, the user must have tuned to the channel for a minimum of 12 seconds, and the channel selection is based on the most recently viewed channels account wide; it is not device specific. 

The Favorites feature allows users to create a personalized list of preferred channels and content. 

Within the guide, a member can select their favorite channels by selecting the “heart” icon included in the column with the channel name, number, and logo.  

Members can then scroll left in the guide to find the “Favorites” filter and toggle between seeing all their subscribed channels or only the selected favorites.

The On-Demand section of the HTC TV Max application provides instant access to a vast library of movies, television shows, and special programming.

Accessing On Demand Content

From the Main Menu, select “Shows” or “Movies” 

Select the Category:

Select the Program Title:

Select desired option:

• Play Most Recent: Watch the latest episode
• Record: Set a recording for that program
• Series Details: Opens Seasons & Episodes

Select the desired Season:

Select the episode to watch:

Select Play:

Note: Content availability in each category will vary based the account subscription package and programming rights

The DVR feature allows users to record live television content, for applicable channels and watch it later at their convenience. 

Recording Expiration

• Recordings have an expiration date, which is shown on each recording
• The expiration date is 180 days after the recording
• If a recording is Saved, it will remain accessible after the expiration date

Set a Recording

• Access the Guide
• Highlight the program to be recorded
• Press the Select button on the remote control

• Highlight the Record option 
• Press the Select button on the remote control. 

• Highlight one of the available options 
• Press the Select button on the remote control.

RECORD ALL EPISODES

• • Series Recording preferences can be set or modified by selecting each field individually.
  • After making changes, highlight OK at the bottom of the screen
  • Press Select on the remote control to save changes

RECORD THIS EPISODE ONLY

• • Confirmation that the recording was scheduled successfully will be shown by the red indicator next to the Manage Recording option

Manage Recorded Content

DVR Space

•  Access the Main Menu
• Highlight the DVR option (will be “DVR” or a circle of random color or image in the bottom right corner of the screen)
• Press the Select button on the Remote Control
• View the “used” and “available” space in top right of screen

View, Edit or Delete Recording

• Access the Main Menu
• Highlight the DVR option (will be “DVR” or a circle of random color or image in the bottom right corner of the screen)
• Press the Select button on the Remote Control
• Select the RECORDED or SCHEDULED folder to view the desired program
• Select the folder/tile to be viewed, edited or deleted
• Press the Select button on the remote control
• Each episode recorded in that folder will be listed with the following options: “Play”, “Delete”, “Info” “Save”

Save Recordings

• Follow the View, Edit or Delete Recordings instructions to save recordings for long-term access—up to a total of 10 hours of content saved.
• Once marked as Saved, the recording will be protected from automatic deletion.

Access the SAVED folder 

• Access the Main Menu
• Highlight the DVR option (will be “DVR” or a circle of random color or image in the bottom right corner of the screen)
• Press the Select Button on the Remote Control
• Select SAVED
• Saved recordings will display a “Saved” badge, showing the total amount of saved content in hours

Remove Saved Content

• Access the Main Menu
• Highlight the DVR option (will be “DVR” or a circle of random color or image in the bottom right corner of the screen)
• Press the Select Button on the Remote Control
• Select SAVED

• Select Remove Save next to any saved recording  
• Once removed, the recording will no longer be protected and may be deleted according to storage settings
• If Remove Saved is selected for an expired recording, it will be permanently deleted and no longer accessible
• An alert will be presented to confirm the removal of the expired recording

Delete Recordings

• Follow the View, Edit or Delete Recordings instructions to delete recorded programs

Access the DELETED folder

• Access the Main Menu
• Highlight the DVR option (will be “DVR” or a circle of random color or image in the bottom right corner of the screen)
• Press the Select Button on the Remote Control
• Select DELETED

• There is a log of total number of deleted programs and total time used by deleted recordings

• The recordings can be “undeleted” within 72 hours, as long as the expiration date has not been reached—whichever comes first

• Recordings in the deleted folder DO NOT count towards the member’s DVR hours
• Clicking “Delete Permanently” removes the recording immediately and it is not recoverable.

• Apple TV: Swipe down in the touch surface area of the remote while watching live TV. This brings up the media player controls on an overlay at the top of the screen. Navigate to the CC option in the overlay screen. Click it to toggle it on or off.
• Android TV: Click the Select button while watching live TV. This brings up the media player controls on an overlay screen at the bottom. Navigate to the Audio/Subtitle on the Main Menu and press the Select button to toggle it on or off.
• Amazon Fire TV devices:  Click the Select button while watching live TV. This brings up the media player controls on an overlay screen at the bottom. Navigate to the Audio/Subtitle on the Main Menu and press the Select button to toggle it on or off.
