HTC Partners with Horry County Schools for Inaugural Middle School Basketball Championship Games

February 01, 2023, Conway, S.C.- HTC, the largest telecommunications cooperative in the United States, today announced the Cooperative is partnering with Horry County Schools (HCS) to end the 2022-23 HCS middle school basketball season with the HTC Middle School Basketball Championship.

Taking place from February 1 through February 11, the first three rounds of the tournament will be played throughout the county at the middle school of the higher ranked team. Both the girls’ and boys’ basketball team’s final game will be played on February 11 and will be hosted at the high school of one of the four teams competing in the championship game.

Similar to the HCS Middle School Football Bowl Games, the HCS Middle School Basketball Championship was created and implemented this season to add more excitement and a higher level of competition at the middle school level.

The first round of the tournament will be played on February 1 for the girls’ basketball teams and February 2 for the boys’ basketball teams.

HCS Middle School Girls Basketball Tournament Game Schedule (February 1)

  • Forestbrook Middle vs. St. James Middle at Forestbrook Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Myrtle Beach Middle vs. Black Water Middle at Myrtle Beach Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Ten Oaks Middle vs. Socastee Middle at Ten Oaks Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • North Myrtle Beach Middle vs. Conway Middle at North Myrtle Beach Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Whittemore Park Middle vs. Loris Middle at Whittemore Park Middle – 6:00 p.m.

HCS Middle School Boys Basketball Tournament Game Schedule (February 2)

  • Ten Oaks Middle vs. Ocean Bay Middle at Ten Oaks Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Black Water Middle vs. Socastee Middle at Black Water Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Forestbrook Middle vs. St. James Middle at St. James Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Whittemore Park Middle vs. Green Sea Floyds Middle at Whittemore Park Middle – 6:00 p.m.
  • Conway Middle vs. Aynor Middle at Conway Middle – 6:00 p.m.
