HTC Completes Fiber Expansion in Surfside Beach
Bringing High-Speed Connectivity to More Than 20 Miles of Residential Neighborhoods
May 30, 2025, Conway, S.C. – HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, recently completed construction of its fiber-optic network expansion in Surfside Beach. This significant infrastructure project, which broke ground in January 2025, has added approximately 20.37 route miles of fiber, enhancing internet access for residents.
With HTC service now available, residents have access to the Cooperative’s ultra-fast internet speeds, starting at 1 GIG, along with the benefits of HTC Smart Wi-Fi for seamless, whole-home connectivity. The expansion is already making a tangible impact, with Surfside residents signing up for service and becoming Cooperative members.

HTC’s investment in Surfside Beach is part of a broader initiative to enhance digital infrastructure throughout Horry, Georgetown, and Marion counties. With this project completion and current expansions in areas such as Aynor and Mullins, HTC will continue to expand upon the more than 14,000 miles of fiber already deployed.
