HTC Supports Surfside Beach Fire Department with Sponsorship of 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
Event Honors Fallen Heroes and Reflects HTC’s Growing Commitment to Surfside Beach
September 12, 2025, Conway, S.C. – HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, recently sponsored the Surfside Beach Fire Department’s second annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. The event took place on Thursday, September 11, drawing first responders, residents and community supporters to the Surfside Beach Fishing Pier as a powerful tribute to the lives lost during the events of September 11, 2001.
The stair climb asked participants to ascend the pier’s steps 26 times, symbolizing the 2,200 stairs climbed by many first responders that entered the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. Many firefighters and police officers participated in full protective gear, while community members and families joined to show their respect and support. The event highlighted the enduring spirit of unity and remembrance within the Surfside Beach community.
HTC supported the stair climb through event sponsorship and by extending its Helping The Community initiative, providing lunch to first responders post event. Members of HTC staff set up at the Surfside Beach Fire Department to serve lunch as a token of appreciation for the firefighters’ dedication and the important role they play in keeping the community safe.
