HTC Employee Jeans Day Fund Generates $1,500 for both Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center and Fisher House Foundation
HTC Joins Contribution with an Additional $1,000 Given in Support of Organization Efforts
November 12, 2024, Conway, S.C., – HTC, the largest telecommunications cooperative in the United States, today announced a donation of $1,500 each to the Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center and Fisher House Foundation, made possible through the HTC Jeans Day Fund. As part of this charitable initiative, HTC enhanced the employee donations with an additional $1,000 contribution, furthering the cooperative’s mission to give back to the community.
The Jeans Day Fund is a unique program driven by HTC employees. Participants contribute to the fund by donating in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work on designated days. This ongoing internal initiative reflects HTC employees’ commitment to supporting charitable causes, providing critical funds to local organizations that align with the Cooperative’s values of community, service and generosity.
Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center, located in Little River, SC, serves as a vital support system for veterans in the local area. The organization provides essential services including food, clothing, housing assistance, employment resources and mental health support. Established to ensure that veterans receive the help they need when transitioning from military to civilian life, the Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for those who have served our country.
Fisher House Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that builds comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay free of charge while a loved one is receiving medical care. Founded in 1990 by Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher, the organization now supports over 90 Fisher Houses across the country, providing families a place to heal together. This donation will directly aid in the continuation of the foundation’s mission to ease the financial and emotional burden on military families during difficult times.
“Our employees never fail to step up for those in need. The Veterans Welcome Home Resource Center and Fisher House Foundation provide incredible services to veterans and their families, and we’re proud to be able to support them through this donation,” Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “HTC believes in the power of community, and the Jeans Day Fund allows us to continuously give back to organizations making a real difference.”
