HTC Members Support Literacy with AutoPay and Paperless Billing Initiative
More Than $5,000 Donated to Local Literacy Organizations in Honor of National Reading Month
May 1, 2025, Conway, S.C., – HTC, the largest telecommunications cooperative in the United States, is proud to recognize its members for making a meaningful impact during National Reading Month celebrated in March. Through HTC’s AutoPay and Paperless Billing initiative, the Cooperative pledged a $5 donation for every member who made the switch. As a result, HTC was able to donate $5,250 in total to Palmetto Literacy Council, Georgetown County Library, and Marion County Library, with each entity receiving $1,750 in support of their literacy efforts.
Literacy is a vital foundation for education and opportunity. The organizations benefiting from this initiative provide essential resources, tutoring and programs that empower children, and adults, with reading skills crucial for success. HTC is honored to support these efforts and remain actively engaged in the communities it serves.
Beyond supporting literacy, this initiative underscores HTC’s commitment to sustainability. By opting for AutoPay and Paperless Billing, members have pledged to reduce paper waste and contribute to environmental responsibility. These small, everyday choices help create a more sustainable future, while enhancing convenience and security for members.
“HTC members made a real difference with a simple switch,” said Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “We are grateful for our members’ participation and for their role in making this initiative a success. We encourage them to continue exploring ways to support local organizations that benefit both the community and the environment, because their actions demonstrate the power of collective impact.”
