HTC Shows Appreciation to Area Organizations in Observance of Mental Health Awareness Month
May 22, 2024, Conway, S.C. – HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, recently delivered cookies to mental health facilities in Horry, Georgetown and Marion Counties as a token of appreciation for the work being done in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
In observance since 1949, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. HTC employees delivered cookies to mental health facilities within the tri-county for distribution to employees. Donations were made to Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, Pee Dee Mental Health Center and Waccamaw Center for Mental Health as part of HTC’s ongoing “Helping The Community” efforts.
“HTC takes immense pride in our ‘Helping The Community’ initiative,” said Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “We are thankful for these great organizations, as well as their staff, and appreciate the opportunity to say, ‘thank you’ for all they do in supporting those in need throughout the community.”
May is dedicated as a time to raise awareness about mental health issues, promote good mental health practices and encourage people to support those affected by mental health disorders. This month serves as a crucial period for individuals, communities and professionals to share resources and strategies related to mental health care and coping mechanisms. The aim is to break down societal stigmas, educate, and advocate for policies that support mental health.
