HTC Recognized for Community Service by CCA

 

Sometimes, a simple act of giving can travel much farther than expected.

 

That was the case when HTC donated 35 cases of Girl Scout cookies to the Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina. The donation recently earned HTC the 2026 Outstanding Service Award (Carrier) from the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA).

 

CCA presented the award during its 2026 Annual Convention in New Orleans. The annual awards recognize contributions from individuals, carriers and associates across the communications industry.

 

For HTC, the recognition represents more than an industry award. It highlights what can happen when community partnerships come together with a shared purpose.

 

 

The cookie donation began with a local initiative involving HTC, Girl Scout Troop 392 and Stella’s Homemade Ice Cream in Conway.

 

After supporting local Girl Scout troops through that effort, HTC looked for another way to share the remaining cookies. That search led to the Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina.

 

The organization included the cookies in hero boxes sent to active-duty military members. Those boxes can include snacks, personal items, handwritten notes and other reminders of home. 

 

What started as a local effort to support Girl Scouts became another opportunity to support military families and service members.

 

 

The recognition also reflects the continued growth of HTC’s Helping the Community initiative.

 

Launched in 2022, the initiative focuses on identifying meaningful needs throughout the communities HTC serves. Employees help identify opportunities to support local organizations, schools, first responders, families, veterans and other community partners through donations, volunteer efforts and partnerships.

 

The Blue Star Mothers project is one example of how those efforts can take an unexpected path.

 

A box of Girl Scout cookies might seem like a small gesture. However, when community organizations work together, that gesture can reach people far beyond the place where it began.

 

 

As a cooperative, HTC has always had a connection to the communities it serves. Helping the Community gives employees another way to put that commitment into action.

 

The CCA recognition is a reminder that those efforts matter. It also encourages HTC to keep looking for opportunities to help, partner and give back.

 

Because sometimes, the best community stories start with something as simple as a box of cookies.
