HTC Closed Out 2023 ‘HELPING THE COMMUNITY’ Efforts With Successful Toy Drive for Churches Assisting People (CAP)
With Toy Drive Complete, HTC Helped More Than 30 Community Organizations Throughout Horry, Georgetown and Marion Counties During Year
January 11, 2024, Conway, S.C.,- HTC, the area’s largest fiber optic internet provider, today announced it finished the Cooperative’s “Helping The Community” initiative with a successful toy drive benefiting Churches Assisting People (CAP). With this drive, every HTC TV MAX subscription placed through December 20, provided a new, unwrapped toy to CAP. In total, more than 950 toys were purchased for and gifted to local children.
In addition to this CAP drive, throughout the year, HTC took the initiative to help those within Horry, Georgetown and Marion counties by assisting in the communities where service is provided through various efforts and numerous donations, some of which included:
- Providing treats to area school bus drivers and recycling center employees
- Donating supply needs for area fire stations
- Volunteering at The Grand Strand Miracle League’s spring event
- A monetary donation to be used in purchasing school supplies for area middle schools
- Providing Department of Social Services employees with tickets to the Pilot Club of Conway’s chicken bog fundraiser
- Volunteering during the United Way’s Day of Caring
- Participating in the United Way United to Read event
“HTC takes great fulfillment in our ‘Helping The Community’ initiative, as it allows us to volunteer our time and resources and provide support to our neighbors,” said Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “We are intentional with giving back to improve the lives of those that surround us, because HTC’s end goal is to help make a positive difference in the communities we all call home.”
