PEE DEE COALITION Receives Donation from HTC Employees to Assist Continued Mission of Prevention and Protection

Local Families Will Be Further Empowered Through Contributions to Critical Services for Victims of Violence and Abuse

October 24, 2024, Conway, S.C., – HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, announced that the Cooperative’s employees recently donated $1,500 to the Pee Dee Coalition.

Founded in 1986, the Pee Dee Coalition is determined to address the critical issues of family violence, child abuse and sexual assault. Since its development, the Coalition has become a leading force in community victim services across the state of South Carolina. The organization operates a multidisciplinary child advocacy center and a comprehensive child abuse prevention program.

Initially serving three counties, the Coalition has expanded its reach to eight counties, including: Florence; Darlington; Marion; Dillon; Chesterfield; Marlboro; Williamsburg; and Sumter. For 37 years, they have delivered vital services to thousands of victims and survivors throughout the region.

“We are incredibly proud of our employees for their generous contribution to the Pee Dee Coalition,” said Robin Ard, HTC Director of Human Resources. “Their commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve reflects our core values and reinforces the impact we can have when we come together to assist our neighbors.”

HTC employee donations are a direct reflection of the Cooperative’s commitment to community support and helping those in need. The funds provided will help Pee Dee Coalition continue its efforts in creating safe environments, empowering survivors and educating the community on the prevention of violence. The amount raised helps ensure that those experiencing crisis have access to the help they deserve.

“We are deeply grateful for this donation from HTC and their employees,” said Joshua Williamson, Pee Dee Coalition Marion County Services Coordinator. “This contribution will help us continue our vital work of providing support and resources to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. At Pee Dee Coalition, we are proud to stand by those in need and work toward a safer, more supportive community. Every dollar allows us to extend our reach, offering critical services that empower individuals and families to heal and to thrive.”
