Substitutes for Santa Receives $3,000 Donation from HTC Through Employee Jeans Day Fund
HTC Contribution Supports Myrtle Beach Area Chamber and SOS Care in Spreading Holiday Joy
December 17, 2024, Conway, S.C., – HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, announced today a $3,000 donation to Substitutes for Santa, an annual event organized by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber in partnership with SOS Care. This contribution, made possible through the Cooperative’s Jeans Day Fund, reflects HTC’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that bring joy and hope to local families during the holiday season.
Substitutes for Santa helps ensure children in need along the Grand Strand area experience the magic of the holidays. The program, now in its 20th year, pairs volunteers with underprivileged children for a night of shopping, festive activities and holiday cheer. Each child is given a spending budget for gifts, necessities and clothing. During the event volunteers serve as mentors, making this experience both memorable and impactful.
The $3,000 donation from HTC’s Jeans Day Fund highlights the Cooperative’s unique culture of giving. The fund is sustained by HTC employees who voluntarily contribute through participation in Jeans Day Fridays, where team members donate funds in exchange for the opportunity to dress casually.
