During December, HTC continued the annual tradition of ensuring area children receive Christmas gifts. This year, a $3,000 donation was given to Substitutes for Santa, an annual event organized by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber in partnership with SOS Care. This contribution, made possible through the Cooperative’s Jeans Day Fund, reflects HTC’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that bring joy and hope to local families during the holiday season.

Substitutes for Santa helps ensure children in need along the Grand Strand area experience the magic of the holidays. The program, now in its 20th year, pairs volunteers with underprivileged children for a night of shopping, festive activities and holiday cheer. Each child is given a spending budget for gifts, necessities and clothing. During the event, volunteers serve as mentors, making this experience both memorable and impactful.

“This donation truly represents the heart of our HTC family,” said Sandy Hendrick, HTC Marketing Manager. “It’s incredible to see how small, consistent acts of kindness by our employees translate into significant contributions that positively impact our community. Substitutes for Santa is an exceptional program and we are honored to support its mission of bringing joy to children in need.”
