HTC Member Voice MAX Disclosure Statement

Thank you for choosing HTC as your service provider and for opting into our HTC Voice MAX service. We are excited to offer you enhanced voice services with improved features, cost savings, and reliable performance.

Important Information About HTC Voice MAX Service

911/E911 Service Limitations:

  • If you are a small business using an IP PBX, your HTC Voice MAX 911 calls are linked to the physical address you provided when service was activated. If you move your device to another location, emergency responders may not have the correct address.
  • Emergency dispatchers may not always receive your phone number or location automatically. You may need to clearly state your address and callback number when calling 911.
  • For all HTC Voice MAX members, in the event of a power outage or internet service disruption, your phone service (including 911 calls) will not work without backup power.

Backup Power Options:

  • To maintain service during a power outage, HTC offers a 24-hour backup battery option for purchase at $99.95. This is available at the time of installation or can be ordered later by calling 843-365-2154.
  • Without backup power, your phone service — including the ability to call 911 — will not work during an outage.
  • Even with a backup battery, talk time may be limited depending on battery condition and usage.

Proper Battery Care:

  • Backup batteries should be stored in temperatures between -4°F and 113°F.
  • They typically last 3 to 5 years and should be tested twice a year by unplugging the modem and checking for dial tone.
  • Replacement batteries can be purchased from HTC when needed.

Member Acknowledgment:

  • HTC has provided notice through the above Disclosure Statement about HTC Voice MAX telephone service. Your use of the service is acknowledgement and acceptance of the terms provided. If you would like to discuss other options, please call 843-365-2154.
  • You understand that HTC Voice MAX service operates differently from traditional phone service, including important differences related to 911 emergency services and backup power.
  • Information about the option to purchase backup power to maintain service during a power outage is available in the Battery Backup Notification Document that can be found online under the HTC Policies .
  • You agree to inform all household members, guests, and others using this service of these differences and limitations.
