Every. Member. Matters.
HTC is not a typical internet company.
And you aren’t a typical customer.
At HTC, you’re a member, an integral part of a cooperative that works to better the lives of those who live in the local communities.
We pride ourselves on offering the latest in communication services. Plus, you’ll receive outstanding local customer service.
Our members receive many benefits with their services *, but that’s not all. Being a member means you have additional benefits, which include:

- Capital Credits – HTC operates as a nonprofit cooperative. That means that excess revenues earned are returned to our Members in the form of Capital Credits.
- Voting Rights – As a member, you have a voice. You will vote on important matters of the Cooperative. That includes the election of Board of Directors.
- Competitive Pricing – Members enjoy affordable rates on all communications services.
- Community Contributions – HTC is committed to investing in the local communities we serve. Employees give financially and volunteer their time to important causes.
As a Cooperative, community contributions cannot be stressed enough. HTC cares about our community, we care about the people in it and making a positive impact is important.
HTC employees give their time and financial resources. That’s why HTC doesn’t just stand for Horry Telephone Cooperative. We like to say it also stands for “Helping The Community”.

* Is your Home in an HOA Community?

At HTC, we’re proud to be a member-owned cooperative, where every individual who directly subscribes to our qualifying services becomes a member and enjoys the full range of benefits—including capital credits, voting rights and member-exclusive publications.
In some communities, HTC services are provided through a bulk agreement with a homeowners’ association (HOA). In these cases, the HOA is the official member of the cooperative and residents receive HTC services as part of that agreement. While residents within such communities may not be individual cooperative members by default, they still experience the quality and reliability of HTC services.
However, residents who choose to subscribe to additional qualifying services outside of their HOA-provided package become individual members and are eligible for the full range of cooperative benefits.
We’re honored to serve all of our communities and value every connection, whether through individual membership or community partnerships.
