HTC Offering Up to $30/Month Off Internet for Eligible Households
HTC will provide a monthly discount of up to $30 towards internet for eligible households. This credit is made possible by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), the successor to the Emergency Broadband Benefit program.
This program is available to both current and new HTC members. You can complete the verification and enrollment processes here or through the HTC My Account dashboard or app. You can also visit one of HTC’s eight convenient retail locations throughout Horry and Georgetown counties.
The ACP discount can be applied to any current HTC internet tier, and there is a limit of one benefit per household per month. Household eligibility will be verified by the federal government, not HTC.
I am a partime resident as this is our vacation property. Only use the property six months out of the year but need internet connected because it is a smart house. Would appreciate the $30.00/mth reduction in my bill.
Good question. While there is nothing stating otherwise, it is assumed that the benefit only extends to a primary household. You must meet the eligibility to receive the benefit. To determine that, you’ll need to go to acpbenefit.org and apply.
I’ve applied for the $30 discount twice. Haven’t heard anything back yet. How will I know if I’ve been approved.
When someone applies through the National Verifier for the ACP benefit, an application ID is generated for reference. An email confirmation comes from USAC (it might say from “Lifeline”) with an update and next steps. If you have questions about the status of your application, you can call the ACP Support Center at 877-384-2575. They are available 7 days a week from 9am – 9pm EST.
I did the whole application for the connectivity benefit and it says I have to enroll with a provider but I’m already enrolled with you. I also get the lifeline credit through you. Do I have to do anything else?
