HTC Recognized with Champion for Public Education Award

Recognition Highlights Commitment to Students, Educators and Communities

HTC recently received the South Carolina School Boards Association’s (SCSBA) Champion for Public Education Award during a Horry County Board of Education meeting.

The award recognizes organizations that support public education and create opportunities for student success. SCSBA President Tim Rhodes presented the award to HTC during the meeting.

Also participating in the presentation were Horry County Board of Education Chairman David Cox, board members Tracy Winters and Janet Graham, and Horry County Schools Superintendent Cliff Jones.

Supporting Education Beyond Connectivity

Education remains a cornerstone of HTC’s commitment to the communities it serves.

The cooperative provides the technology infrastructure that helps students, teachers and families stay connected. However, HTC’s support for education extends far beyond internet service.

Over the years, HTC has partnered with local schools, educational organizations and community programs. These partnerships help expand learning opportunities, promote digital literacy and strengthen community connections.

HTC also supports scholarship programs, student-focused initiatives and technology education efforts. Through these investments, the cooperative helps prepare the next generation for success.

Technology continues to shape the future of education. As a result, reliable internet access and digital resources remain essential. HTC works to ensure students and educators have the tools they need to learn, communicate and thrive.

Investing in the Future of Our Communities

The Champion for Public Education Award reflects HTC’s long-standing belief that strong schools help build strong communities.

“As a cooperative, our mission has always centered on serving our members and improving quality of life throughout our communities,” said Sandy Hendrick, Marketing Manager at HTC. “Supporting education is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future. We are grateful for this recognition. We are also proud to work alongside educators, school leaders and community partners who share a commitment to student success.”

HTC remains committed to supporting educational initiatives throughout Horry, Georgetown and Marion counties. The cooperative will continue creating opportunities that benefit students, educators and families for years to come.
