HTC Supports Memory Care

 

During June, HTC continued its Helping The Community initiative with a special focus on Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. This effort centered on supporting older adults and caregivers across our communities.

 

To bring comfort and engagement, HTC assembled care baskets designed to support memory health and cognitive activity. The goal was simple. Encourage connection, stimulation and joy through meaningful activities.

 

 

Each basket included memory-enhancing games and activities that can be used in game rooms and shared spaces.

 

Items featured a variety of engaging tools such as matching card games, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. Additional brain-stimulating activities, such as coloring books, were also included to encourage creativity and focus.

 

These resources support residents in nursing homes, assisted living communities, and active-aging center environments. They also help create moments of interaction between residents, families and caregivers.

 

 

HTC delivered care baskets to local organizations. Each stop offered a chance to connect with staff and residents.

At each location, teams welcomed HTC with appreciation and excitement. The baskets quickly found a place in shared activity spaces.

 

 

Helping The Community remains a core HTC initiative throughout the year. Each monthly project focuses on real needs across our service areas.

 

This June effort highlighted the importance of cognitive health and emotional connection. Small activities can create meaningful moments for older adults and caregivers alike.

 

Through ongoing outreach, HTC continues to find efforts that support, uplift and connect our neighbors across Horry, Georgetown, and Marion counties.
