Helping The Community: A Strong Start to 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year.

Somehow, six months have flown by. We’ve turned calendar pages, tackled projects and shared plenty of good news along the way. Most importantly, we’ve found opportunities to give back to the communities we call home.

That’s exactly what our “Helping The Community” initiative is all about.

At HTC, we believe being a community partner means more than providing reliable technology. It means showing up and lending a hand. Sometimes it means writing a check. Other times it means rolling up our sleeves, serving a meal or finding creative ways to make someone smile.

And if there’s one thing we’ve learned so far in 2026, it’s that a little kindness can go a long way.

Community Support Comes in Many Forms

The first half of the year gave us plenty of opportunities to put our mission into action.

We kicked off the year by supporting local first responders and literacy efforts. As the months continued, we partnered with schools, libraries, nonprofits and community organizations across Horry, Georgetown and Marion counties.

Along the way, we purchased thousands of Girl Scout cookies, helped support local fundraising efforts and participated in appreciation events for educators and staff.

Yes, buying boxes of Girl Scout cookies may have been one of the sweeter assignments of the year. We’re still waiting for someone to convince us that cookies don’t count as community outreach. So far, no luck – because I certainly smile when I eat them.

Not to mention, each project allowed us to support organizations that work every day to strengthen our communities. That’s something we’re always happy to be part of.

The People Behind the Initiative

While “Helping The Community” carries the HTC name, it would not be possible without the employees who bring these efforts to life. Our team genuinely enjoys finding ways to help others.

As a matter of fact – many of the projects we complete begin as simple conversations. Someone sees a need, shares an idea or asks, “How can we help?”.

From there, something meaningful begins to take shape. That’s one of the reasons this initiative continues to grow. The passion behind it is real.

By the Numbers

While community impact cannot always be measured, the first half of 2026 certainly kept us busy.

Helping The Community: January–May Snapshot

– $3,000 in Girl Scout cookies purchased

– 35 cases of those cookies donated to military families

– More than $7,000 donated through Helping the Community initiatives

– Three literacy organizations supported through our March literacy campaign

– Multiple schools, nonprofits and community organizations impacted across our service area

– Special gift deliveries to various senior care centers

– Countless volunteer hours contributed by HTC employees

And we’re just getting started.

Looking Toward the Second Half

Brand new opportunities continue to emerge. New partnerships continue to form. Creative ideas continue to find their way onto whiteboards, meeting agendas and occasionally sticky notes that somehow survive the chaos that is my desk.

The needs within our communities never stop. Neither does our commitment to helping meet them.

As we move into the second half of the year, we look forward to continuing the work, supporting local organizations and finding new ways to make a difference.

Because at the end of the day, “Helping The Community” isn’t really about donations, events or check presentations. It’s about people.

It’s about finding opportunities to make someone’s day a little brighter, a classroom a little stronger or a community a little better than we found it. We’re grateful for every partnership, every volunteer and every chance to give back.

And while we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, we’re even more excited about what’s still to come.
