American Cancer Society to Aid Local Patients with Donation Support from HTC
HTC recently donated $1,500 to the American Cancer Society. Raised and distributed in August, this donation to the American Cancer Society came from a combination of employee contributions, as well as the Cooperative’s ongoing “Helping The Community” initiative.
“It is due to community supporters like HTC that we are able to assist cancer patients when they need it most,” said Chinel Boateng, area American Cancer Society Sr. Development Manager. “Donations aid in providing lodging during treatment at over 30 Hope Lodges across the U.S., a 24/7 cancer helpline, transportation to treatment facilities, $2.55 million in research grants right here in SC and even wigs, hats and scarves to those who experience hair loss during treatment.”
